Privacy Policy
The operator of this site (handle: rin0420; referred to below as “the operator”) respects user privacy when providing the browser game “VOID STRIKER” (referred to below as “the game”) and this site, and handles information according to the following policy.
1. Basic policy
If the game is opened directly via file://, no network communication occurs and it runs fully offline. When the game is opened on this site (https://), however, loading the page automatically triggers communication with the operator's server (Cloudflare Workers) to restore the status of purchased digital items. This communication occurs simply by opening the page, even if the user has not performed any purchase or settings operation (see section 2 for details). Progress data itself, including scores, credit balances, owned skins and themes, referral codes, and settings, is not sent in this communication and is stored only in the user's browser localStorage. When online features such as digital-item purchases and ownership synchronization are used, the operator handles the minimum information described below.
2. Information collected when using online features
| Information | Details | When collected |
|---|---|---|
| Device account ID | A random identifier (UUID) issued by the server. It does not contain personally identifying information such as a name or email address | Issued automatically when the game page is opened on this site, if no device account ID is yet stored in the browser |
| Authentication token | A signed token issued for the device account ID and stored only in the browser's local storage | Same as above |
| Purchase records | Transaction records such as the purchased digital item's SKU, payment session ID, and purchase date and time | Intended to occur when a digital item is purchased. As of this policy's publication, no in-game purchase flow is implemented, so this record normally does not occur |
| Creation date and time | The date and time the device account was issued | When the device account is issued. In the current implementation, this timestamp is recorded only at issuance and is not updated on subsequent visits |
The operator does not directly collect personal information such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, or credit card details. If a feature requiring payment is provided, payment processing is outsourced to a payment service provider such as Stripe, Inc. Card information and similar details are sent directly by the user to that provider. Refer to each provider's published privacy policy for information about its handling practices.
Because the communication described above passes through Cloudflare's network as ordinary HTTP traffic, the originating IP address is handled as technical routing information. The database the operator built (Cloudflare D1) does not store IP addresses, but for how Cloudflare's own infrastructure handles this information, refer to Cloudflare's published privacy policy as well.
3. Purposes for using information
Collected information is used only for the following purposes:
- To manage ownership of purchased digital items and reflect it correctly in the game
- To investigate fraudulent purchases, duplicate charges, and similar matters, and to respond to inquiries
- To maintain and improve the service, including investigating failures
4. Disclosure to third parties
Except where required by law, the operator will not provide collected information to a third party without the user's consent. Payment processing itself is outsourced to a payment service provider, and information required for payment is sent directly by the user to that provider. If advertising described below is introduced, advertising providers may also collect information independently through cookies and similar technologies.
5. Data storage location and retention period
- Device account IDs and purchase records are stored in cloud infrastructure managed by the operator, such as Cloudflare D1 (database).
- Authentication tokens and game progress data, including credit balances, owned skins and themes, and referral codes, are stored only in the browser's local storage and are never sent to the operator's servers. Conversely, SKU information generated by a purchase is recorded server-side and passed from the server to the browser when the page loads, where it is merged into local ownership data. Only this direction of synchronization occurs; progress data is never uploaded from the browser to the server.
- The current implementation has no mechanism that automatically deletes data after a set period. Data is generally retained until the game is discontinued or until the operator responds to a user's deletion request, whichever comes first.
6. User rights
Users may request disclosure, correction, or deletion of information about themselves, such as purchase records associated with a device account ID. Submit requests through the GitHub Issues described on the contact page. Due to the nature of the device-account system, identity verification and identification may be limited if the user cannot provide the identifier to the operator. Progress data stored in local storage can be completely deleted by the user at any time by selecting “WIPE DATA” on the game's OPTION screen.
7. Cookies and advertising
The game itself, meaning the canvas-based gameplay screen, does not use cookies to track play activity. This site, including content pages such as the gameplay guide and development blog, may in the future display advertising from third-party providers, such as an advertising network including Google AdSense, to support site operation. If advertising is introduced, please note the following:
- Third-party advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies, such as local storage or device identifiers, to serve interest-based personalized advertising based on previous visits to this and other websites.
- For details about Google's use of cookies in advertising, see Google's advertising policies at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
- To disable personalized advertising, change your settings through Google Ads Settings or industry opt-out pages such as aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com.
- If advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated to announce its start date and placement scope.
Use of local storage as necessary for the online features described above, including digital-item purchases and ownership synchronization, is separate from tracking for advertising purposes.
8. Contact
For inquiries about this policy, use the GitHub Issues described on the contact page.
9. Revisions
The operator may revise this policy as necessary. A revised policy takes effect when posted on this page.
